The Telsis Application Server is supplied with a set of pre-defined services that are configured by the network operator:
- Number Portability
- Number Translation
- Non-Geographic Call Routing
These services can be customised or further services developed to meet operator needs, and have a proven service history.
Local Number Portability ensures that calls are routed to the correct network, reducing interconnect charges.
Telefónica Spain uses the Telsis Application Server to provide Intelligent Call Routing for customer care calls, controlling Ericsson MSCs using INAP. Since launch the system has reduced customer care hold times by 66%.
EWE TEL in Germany uses a Telsis Application Server to control a range of different network equipment that it has attained through acquisitions of other operators, allowing it to offer a consistent range of services to all of its customers. The Telsis Application Server currently controls Siemens EWSD switches, Nokia DX200 switches and Alcatel S12 switches using INAP, and has recently added integration of Technicolor NGN softswitches using SIP. This single solution provides a consistent service offering over a heterogeneous network.
Everything Everywhere has integrated a Telsis Application Server with Genesys T‑Servers to provide intelligent routing of customer care calls, including routing of self-help calls and calls to agents based on skill levels.
Telefónica Germany deployed a Telsis Application Server to reduce operating costs associated with local number portability (LNP). By moving the handling of LNP in-house, the system quickly paid for itself and now provides ongoing opex savings. Telefónica has now extended the use of the Application Server to also provide other value-add services.
