Every year, trillions of SMS messages are sent by mobile phone users.

To their recipients, the vast majority of these messages are useful and welcome, but a small minority are unfortunately either unwanted or unpleasant – and this minority of messages degrades the recipients’ quality of life.

Fortunately, the Blacklist service now allows customers to block messages, by specifying numbers from which they do not want to receive messages. This is a network facility available to all customers, whatever type of phone they have.

Unwanted messages are automatically and silently discarded within the network, so that the intended recipient will never know a message was sent, and nor will the sender know that the message hasn’t been delivered.

The primary focus of the Blacklist service is child protection, but many adults and others will also welcome the opportunity to block messages from certain people.
