EWE TEL deploys Telsis’ next generation solution to meet new emergency call regulations

EWE TEL, one of the largest regional telephony providers in Germany, has deployed Telsis’ Emergency Services Location Information (ESLI) service to meet the TR Notruf 2.0 regulations.

Telsis has updated its original ESLI service, which provided operators with a solution to meet the original 2011 TR Notruf requirements, to meet the new TR Notruf 2.0 requirements that have been issued to address the shift to IP based telephony.

Quick to install, the Telsis ESLI solution allows ultra-rapid compliance with the emergency calls regulations. It is based on a specially licensed version of the proven Telsis Ocean Services Platform (OSP).

Featuring its own WebRTC-capable media server, the OSP is currently supporting commercial services with a wide range of German operators, including EWE TEL, VSE NET and M-net. Unlike alternatives, the Ocean OSP enables multiple data intensive services to be run simultaneously, including number portability, intelligent call routing, hosted PBX and multi-channel contact centre services. The platform is also equipped with its own drag-and-drop service creation environment enabling the fast creation of custom services by telcos’ own staff independently from Telsis.

Jörn Krieger for EWE TEL commented: “EWE TEL chose to work with Telsis due to their ongoing commitment to provide solutions that address the challenges of the German market.  Having used the Telsis ESLI solution to meet the existing regulations on our TDM platforms, we chose Telsis to provide a solution to meet the new regulations on our next generation network.”

Peter Ritzmann, Managing Director of Telsis GmbH commented: “Telsis has partnered with EWE TEL for over 20 years. We are pleased that EWE TEL have chosen to enhance their platform to bring it in line with these new regulations and look forward to working with them in the future.”
